TOPRA held its Annual Review Meeting last night
at its Fifth Annual Symposium in Budapest. Alan Hunter, founding
TOPRA Board Member and a distinguished regulatory affairs practitioner
assumed the Presidency of the organisation from Craig McCarthy.
McCarthy will continue to serve on the Board as immediate past-President.
Mr. Hunter is dually qualified in pharmacy and law and has spent
most of his career in the pharmaceutical industry. He latterly
served as Regulatory and Legal Director and Company Secretary of
Association of British Pharmaceutical Industries. He is now a consultant
specialising in legal regulatory and Code of Practice issues. A
Fellow of both TOPRA and the RPSGB, Mr. Hunter is also a member
of the management committee of The Pharmaceutical Trade Marks Group
(PTMG) and the editorial board of the International Journal of
Pharmaceutical Medicine.
TOPRA also used the occasion of their annual review to launch
its new website at www.topra.org. The newly designed website has
added features for members and visitors alike. Extended Member
features include complete access to TOPRA’s world class journal,
Regulatory Rapporteur and detailed information on TOPRA’s Special
Interest Groups (SPIN). This is the second new website that TOPRA
has launched this year, having launched their Symposium Website,
www.toprasymposium.com site in July.
New TOPRA President Alan Hunter said,
“In the next 12 months we will build on our strategy to
grow membership, extend services, and streamline our board to
create stronger organisational governance.”
We have a programme
of meetings including collaborations with Sweden’s Lakemedelsverket
(Medicinal Products Agency), Austrian Agency for Health and
Food Safety (AGES), the European Commission, and EMEA.
